The "First Naturalization List in Lancaster County, PA. Dated Feb 14, 1729 it states the following are naturalized citizens: Henry Bare; Jacob Bare, Jr; and John Henry Bare. It is possible this is the Jacob Bare, son of Samuel Bar and father of Henry Bare (probably John Henry Bare). Henry is father of Henry Bare who is father of Joseph Bare who is father of Elijah Elias Bare who is father of Jasper Bare, who is the father of Curbe Bare. It lists Joseph Bar age 46, Susan Bar, age 43, John Bare age 19, Sarah Bar age 17, Deanna Bar age 14, Joseph Bar age 12, America Bar age 9, Felix Bar age 7, and Clamenza Bar age 10. Yet in other records these people all used the spelling Bare.

A statement from December 16, 1909 saying Elias Bare died without a last will and testament. It stipulates that his estate valued at $25 will be equally distributed among JD Bare, Felix Bare, CR Bare, Newton Bare, Jasper Bare, Sallie Bare, Ellen Miller, Priscilla Miller, and Alex Bare. It further states that JD Bare is appointed administrator of the estate after filing a bond of $50.

This record shows on September 18, 1917, Curbe Bare was inducted into the Army at the age of 25. He was assigned to the CO M 321 Infantry until Oct 15, 1917 then to CO E 120 Infantry until discharge. He served overseas from May 12, 1918 to Apr 13, 1919, and was slightly wounded on Aug 27, 1918 while overseas.

Curby (Curbe) Bare's WW I Draft Registration card on June 4, 1917. It says he was claiming exemption from the draft due to a disability. The Registrar's Report portion of the record says "disability doubtful". Just a little over 3 months later Curbe Bare was inducted into the Army (on Sept 18, 1917).
