Kurt Bare very intelligently putting the muzzle of a toy rifle in his mouth while sister Kim Bare looks shocked he would do this. This is probably one of the reasons why Ken Bare would ban toy guys from the house. He said kids don't learn to respect guns properly if they play with toy guns. I think he's probably right based on this photo.

This is not about any Bare's or Jernberg's but I am fascinated in the way kids brains work, and this is a great example. It's about a six year old girl describing the usefulness of newspapers. "We need them so we can know who reks and who drownds and who shoots somebody. .... You can put them on when you defrost... " and etc are pretty funny. But, my favorite part is the editor adding "P.S. Diana, they are also good to swat things with, like files and public officials and things.""

The Twitchell mule - the most kind and patient babysitter. Left to right: Kurt Bare, Kraig Bare, Elnora Twitchell, Leo Twitchell, Kim Bare, Jim Twitchell. I think that's our dog Sinners, too, who obviously was not worried about her at all.
We would ride multiple kids at a time on this kind mule (usually only 2 - 4 ). Often we would get her trotting and then we would jump off as she ran by a big sand pile. After the last kid was off she would immediately stop and patiently wait for how ever long it took for us to get back on.

A baby antelope was found by game wardens up on the hill (Grandpa and Grandma's property at the time). Someone had poached his mother, and he would not live if left by himself. We were told we could raise him for one year and then he had to go back with the herd. We think he lived many years after he went back with his herd, especially after a wild life photographer came into the bar years later and said she was shocked that an antelope came up to her and knocked her over (which is how he played with us). Left to right are Kim Bare, Kurt Bare, Kraig Bare ready to butt heads with the antelope, and Kliff Bare.
